Qian Xun's Maxims

Don’t choose comfort when you’re at the age when you can endure the most hardship.

Climb to the summit, not so the world can see you,

but so you can see the whole world.

When life gets bad enough, it will get better.

Humbling yourself to please others will only earn you their disregard.

In this world, only by becoming strong yourself can you earn other people’s respect.

Only by treating one another as equals can we earn genuine respect.
