The D-Slope Murder Case

The Edogawa Rampo Classic Mystery Collection is a series, with each volume featuring three or four captivating, self-contained mystery stories. This volume includes The Human Chair, a classic adapted for film several times, along with The Black Lizard and The Shadow Man, stories featuring the debut of Kogoro Akechi. Edogawa Rampo drew on a wide range of subjects and had a uniquely inventive imagination. His work could be grounded in reality one moment and bizarre and uncanny the next, but his stories were always baffling and gripping. Rampo could draw out readers' deepest fears with the smallest details, sending chills down their spines. That's one reason his name still resonates today, even though he was a mystery writer active in the 20th century. His Kogoro Akechi is one of Japan's best-known fictional detectives.
