Meditations

Marcus Aurelius (121-180 AD) was the last emperor of the "Five Wise Kings" period of the ancient Roman Empire. As a prince, he enrolled in the Salis School in Rome at the age of 7 and became the consul of Rome at the age of 17. He was proficient in all his studies and was the first among his peers. As an emperor, he worked hard and worked hard to govern. Although wars continued during his reign, domestic natural disasters occurred frequently, and the treasury was empty, he was invincible, made great martial arts, inherited the legacy of his ancestors, and tried his best to maintain the status quo and prevent corruption. As a philosopher, he devoted himself to the ethics of the three major categories of ancient Roman Stoic philosophy. He wrote the "Meditations" in the Pommel Lawton. He is known as the "imperial philosopher" and "the unique philosopher since ancient times who was a British master and also an ascetic ascetic." In Meditations, Aurelius did not intend to establish himself as a philosopher and write a complete system of philosophical works. The whole book is just a dialogue between the author and himself, a dialogue between nature and contemplative reason, a rumination after action, a compilation of the author's introspection, and the ancient Roman emperor's thinking and exploration of human survival, value orientation, moral principles, good and evil, honor and disgrace, happiness, joy, misfortune, and other issues.
