When the Moon’s Heart Stirs

[1v1 / two top students / redemption / love grows over time / sweet romance / high school / ensemble cast / happy ending] [Cold-faced cutie vs. blazing warmth] [A genius girl who acts sweet despite her astonishingly contrasting personality VS a sunny, all-around good boy who turns gloomy and obsessive after being abandoned] In their second year of high school, a new student transferred to Tengyang High. After two years without a desk mate, Chen Nian suddenly had someone sitting beside her. The boy was warm and polite, but she found him irritating and noisy. In their first monthly exams, Chen Nian, the top student in her grade, scored one point less than him. She began to take her new desk mate, now her rival, seriously. Just as everyone expected them to be at each other's throats, they noticed that there seemed to be something more between them. Everyone couldn't help exclaiming, “They're so adorable together. They're made for each other.” Naturally, everyone assumed they'd end up together. But then Chen Nian, who was supposed to take the college entrance exam, disappeared. No one knew where she'd gone, not even Gu Nanci. The boy was like an abandoned puppy, with no one to claim him. He waited on the dimly lit street at one eight-thirty after another. Three years later, Gu Nanci went to Shanghai University as an exchange student, where he unexpectedly ran into Chen Nian, who had vanished long ago. The usually gentle and polite Gu Nanci went wild, revealing an obsession she'd never seen in him before. “Chen Nian, did you treat me like a dog just for fun?” Chen Nian watched him lose control, calm and cold, then replied lightly, “So what if I did?” His eyes reddened, and he was the first to give in. “So what? Even if you were playing with me, I'd accept it. Please don't leave me. I'm begging you.” And so, when the moon fell in love, every chance encounter turned out to have been part of my careful plan all along.
