The TV adaptation of the same name is currently airing on Youku. Original screenwriters: Li Jingdong and Black Cat. Tan Jingtian, a top graduate of the provincial entomology research institute, and Jin Ling travel to Thailand for an academic exchange. A case involving the bodies of women in the red-light district, sparked by the smuggling of India’s national butterfly, brings them together with Thai police chief Walalilo. The three begin joining forces to solve one bizarre case after another. The red-light district murders, the murder swap, the hornet ambush, the killer bees targeting red-green color-blind victims, the mountain village’s butterfly curse, the serial killer who burns his victims’ bodies... The cases unfold one after another. But who could have guessed that danger was already close at hand? While investigating a serial murder case, they discover that Jin Ling has become the next target. Amid mounting peril, they begin to peel away the layers of mystery surrounding the story.
