"A Brief History of China" is a general history of China written by the great historian Mr. Lu Simian. The book is divided into two parts. The first part discusses the political history from ancient times to the 1930s, from the origin of the Chinese nation confirmed by legends and archeology to the revolutionary China of Mr. Lu Simian's era, systematically combing the development and changes of history; the second part focuses on the concept of "big culture" and focuses on cultural phenomena, including marriage, ethnic system, political system, class, property, official system, election, taxation, military system, and criminal law. Eighteen topics including industry, currency, food and clothing, housing and transportation, education, language, academics, and religion describe all aspects of Chinese social life.

This "A Brief History of China" is rich in content and systematically sorts out the development of Chinese history, giving me a more comprehensive understanding of China's past. Moreover, the cultural topics in the book are very interesting and tell many details about social life. I especially hate those tyrants, but fortunately the author's objective and fair attitude allows me to look at history more rationally. This reminds me of "Up and Down Five Thousand Years". They are both good books about Chinese history.
