This book is very well written, but the ending of Bao Daichai is a bit sad like the original book. Bao Daichai obviously loves each other but can't be together. Since they can't be together, why should they like each other? Yes, it was because they abandoned Daiyu and did not let Baodai be together that Daiyu died. Baoyu was so disheartened and despairing that he abandoned them in the end.

I like Lin Daiyu very much in the story. She is smart but has a rough fate, which makes people feel distressed. This reminds me of Jane in "Jane Eyre". They are both independent and strong women.
