"A Dream of Red Mansions" is an ancient Chinese chapter-length fictional novel and the first of the four classic Chinese classics. The current version has a total of 120 chapters. It is generally believed that the first 80 chapters were written by Cao Xueqin, a writer in the Qing Dynasty, and the last 40 chapters were written by unknown authors and compiled by Gao E and Cheng Weiyuan. The novel takes the rise and fall of the four major families of Jia, Shi, Wang and Xue as the background. It uses the psychic jade that transformed from a stubborn stone under the Qinggeng Peak of the Dahuang Mountain as the perspective. It takes the tragedy of love and marriage between Jia Baoyu, Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai as the main line. It depicts the various aspects of life of some boudoir beauties, showing the true beauty of humanity and tragedy.
