The Creator on Ice: Figure Skating

Coming-of-age + high-energy sports story + no romance + ensemble cast of figure skaters At seven, little Lu Yu watched Kim Yuna win gold at the Vancouver Winter Olympics on TV. Captivated by the perfect blend of artistry and technique, she began her own figure skating journey, hoping that one day she could stand on the podium and make a story of her own. At fifteen, Lu Yu had joined the national team and represented her country at the PyeongChang Olympics. She fell countless times and failed countless times, but she never gave up. At last, she landed the women's most difficult jump at the time, the triple axel, at the Olympics. With her arrival, women's singles skating blossomed once more. At nineteen, Lu Yu went through the growing pains of adulthood and was beset by rumors and criticism. Even so, as long as she could still jump, she would never give up. From domestic competitions to the World Championships and then the Olympics, from the junior division to the senior division, every setback made her stronger. At the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympics on home ice, she defeated the supposedly unbeatable Russian skaters and became an Olympic champion. This is the story of a women's singles skater and her rivals and teammates, as they break through, challenge themselves, and surpass their limits to achieve greatness. It is also the coming-of-age story of a little girl who stays true to herself on the ice and never forgets why she started.
