Youth in the Flames of War

Li Zheng is a young man who emerged from the failure of an armed uprising against Chiang Kai-shek. Leading a young guerrilla force dedicated to suppressing bandits, he begins by supporting the People's Liberation Army in clearing bandits from Xuyong County. The unit then becomes the Fifteenth Army's Southern Sichuan Anti-Bandit Guerrilla Brigade. As the campaign continues, they face challenge after challenge, crushing one gang of notorious, ruthless, and die-hard bandits after another, until they become an invincible force of anti-bandit heroes. In March 1951, this heroic unit takes the battlefield in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, bravely facing the United Nations forces led by the United States and armed to the teeth. They overcome hardships beyond imagination and, through one grueling battle after another, make the army's prestige known and bring glory to their country. The unit not only produces one hero after another, but also witnesses one stirring romance after another.
