Synopsis

The Japanese army's bombing shattered the peaceful life of a hunter in western Yunnan. Japanese bombers roared overhead, reducing his home to scorched earth. His mother's final words became his sole obsession: revenge. With his hunting rifle, he joined the expeditionary force. In the hail of bullets at the Battle of Tonggu, the taciturn young man used a hunter's precision to kill Japanese snipers, earning the undying enmity of the Japanese ace sniper known as “Wildcat.”

Lin Yuan led the remnants of his unit into the Savage Mountain, a primeval hell that devoured lives. Leeches sucked their blood, poisonous mists clouded their minds, and swamps swallowed them whole. When food and ammunition ran out, humanity teetered on the edge of survival. The pursuit by “Ghost Eye” followed them like a shadow, making their desperate plight even more deadly. The old soldiers' sacrifices, the student soldiers' transformation, and the wounded men's despair: every moment tested the limits of these soldiers.

From the bloody meat grinder at Tonggu to the narrow escape from the Savage Mountain, Lin Yuan transformed from hunter to sniper. Clutching his mother's silver bracelet and carrying his comrades' trust, he carved a bloody path through desperation. This is not merely one man's road to revenge, but also a little-known and tragic epic of the expeditionary force. Through the eyes of an ordinary person, it paints a portrait of war's cruelty, the resilience of human nature, and the fire of resistance that never goes out, even in the face of despair.
