There are approximately 160 million hypertensive patients in our country. Many people have high blood pressure but are not aware of it because they have no symptoms. There are also many people who neglect treatment or ignore it because the symptoms are not obvious. However, the threat and damage to human life is always present, so it is called the silent "invisible killer". Hypertension requires long-term and patient drug treatment. Diet control and food therapy are sometimes as effective as antihypertensive drugs. Hypertension has become the most serious disease that harms our country and even mankind. It has the characteristics of "three highs": "high morbidity, high mortality, and high disability rate". How to prevent and treat hypertension? This book integrates science and practicality. It focuses on some hot issues that patients with hypertension are generally concerned about. It introduces what hypertension is, its occurrence, detection and prevention. It also introduced the common sense of medication for hypertension and the common sense of meal preparation for patients with hypertension, and recommended some four-season recipes and antihypertensive medicinal diets that can assist in lowering blood pressure. Hypertensive patients can selectively draw on relevant knowledge from reference books based on their different conditions and individual differences.

This book is very practical! It not only introduces relevant knowledge about high blood pressure, but also provides suggestions on medication and meal preparation, just like a caring doctor. I think it is somewhat similar to "Diabetes Medication and Meal Preparation" in that they both focus on chronic diseases. My grandfather has high blood pressure. After reading this book, I have a better understanding of his diet and medication, and I am better able to take care of him. Moreover, the recipes in the book are also quite attractive, I feel like I might give them a try.
