The Secret History of the Three Kingdoms (Complete in 2 Volumes)

I have read this book after watching the TV series. The author restructured the story of the Three Kingdoms, which is very thoughtful. However, maybe because of my personal preconceptions about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the characters of the Three Kingdoms, many parts made me feel unreasonable, because I think the identity of the protagonist, the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, does not count. It is a big bargaining chip, but the entire Han Dynasty does not have an army. The Han Dynasty, which has no foundation at all, wants to get the maximum benefit from the game between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao. This itself makes me feel unreasonable, because no one is stupid, why would they let you profit? Maybe I fundamentally disagree with the starting point of this book, but I still think this book is good. It has a novel starting point, a bold story, and a more rigorous story.

Unexpectedly, I could see Prince Ma's book on Tomato. It's really good. It's quite enjoyable to read. It's a half-true and half-false historical story, and the sensual and machinations of the Three Kingdoms ~(￣▽￣~)~

I personally like this novel very much. Liu Xie, the last emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, was so unlucky. His life, in these troubled times, was involuntarily from the moment he was kidnapped by Dong Zhuo and ascended to the throne. He was born in the wrong era. If not in this troubled time, but in a time of peace, he would have been a steadfast king.

Ma Boyong, a well-known modern writer and novelist in my country, once said, "For many major events in history, the real motives hidden behind them may not be recorded by historians, which gives novelists a space to maneuver, and many legendary stories can occur from them." In response to Ma Boyong's words, this book is set in the Three Kingdoms period, within the original historical framework, and based on historical figures such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Quan, interspersed with a series of mysterious events and conspiracies. Ma Boyong showed the changes in the Three Kingdoms period and the game between the characters from another angle by depicting the complex relationships, power struggles and wisdom contests between the characters.

The intention is very good, I want to see the world from a different perspective, and also see this relatively single person in history. But it always feels a bit thin. Maybe there are too few historical materials about Liu Xie, and his more vivid self is missing. A person is born in that world, grows up in that world, and is controlled by others throughout his life, but what is he really like? Apart from being a king, he is also a good son, a good student, a good successor to the family mission and bloodline, a trend-setter with great ambitions, or a frustrated young man with full ideals and backbone of reality. Maybe he is feeling aggrieved, maybe he is always looking forward to it, and even more hopes to see him complain too much to prevent heartbreak. The worries of young Liu Xie, the complaints of middle-aged Liu Xie, is Liu Xie calm in his "twilight years"? Much is known, and much more is unknown. A bit unsatisfactory!

Historical facts are humanized, and human nature is historicized. There is reality in the fictitious, and there is evidence in the reality. It can not only provide leisure and enjoyment, but also serve as a lesson for life.

Ma Boyong's masterpiece of historical possibility novels, and it is currently my favorite book among his works. Unlike Lychee and Twelve Hours, where the minor characters are helpless and bitter (the ending of the latter with He Dong is a bit far-fetched), this film vividly demonstrates the heroism of that era that we are fascinated by. On the eve of Guandu, the situation was turbulent. Some people were seeking power, while others were benevolent. Some were burning the ruins to build new buildings, while others were supporting the buildings before they collapsed. Some were betting on their lives and foundations, while others were involved in the situation for the sake of emotion and righteousness. After Qianqiu, merits, demerits, wins and losses are just the wind blowing open a volume of history. The twin emperors and the Sima brothers are naturally ingenious; the Battle of Wancheng and the mystery of Wei Mosquito are also quite ingenious; Guo's opera changed its name, and its grievances and resentments became more ups and downs (it was suspected of being bloody and vulgar, so the prince paid Jin Yong a copyright fee). The only fly in the ointment is dancing with the shackles of history, Zhen Mi goes back, Xu Fu leaves, Guan Yu kills Yan, etc. In this context, it is hard to believe that Liu Ping and Sima did nothing when Cao Cao entered Jingzhou and fought against Chibi. They may also have done something secretly to cause the world to be divided. It is recommended to write a sequel. In addition to the familiar characters such as Guo Jia, Sima Yi, and Jia Xu, who are fighting openly and secretly, what is even more touching is the love, loyalty and righteousness of small characters such as Zhao Yan, Shi A, Deng Zhan, and Ren Hongchang. The part where Kong Rong burned the Qianlong Temple actually had a tragic feeling about doing it despite knowing that it was impossible to do. The writing style is plain and clear, and the ancient rhyme is consistent. In a nutshell: Anyone who has ever felt sorry for the characters of the Three Kingdoms should read this book! It is better to eat with "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" [Blowing Kiss] is like a fish in water. The two books written by the prince are exactly like a pair of smiling tigers and two black dog sharks [eating melons]

This book is really good. Using history as the background to make up a story is similar to "I Traveled Through the People and Things of Those Years".

The Three Kingdoms, also known as the Three Kingdoms period, was an era of rapid changes and strange clouds. Heroes emerged in large numbers and the world was divided into three factions: Wei, Shu, and Wu. The author of this book rationally reconstructs and imagines the original history on the basis of historical facts, and tells this legendary history in the form of a legend, a conjecture, or a historical novel that "may have happened". The language of the book is humorous and witty, and it uses the novel to make historical figures "alive" and vividly interpret past history.
