I, the Empress's Discarded Son-in-Law, Shocked the Court from the Start

I am Wei Chong, Left Commander of the Great Xia Northern Defense Army.

The border is under attack. Three hundred veterans of the Northern Defense Army have been besieged for a month, and my subordinates actually dared to conceal it from me?

Execute them!!! Armor up, mount your horses. Watch as my thousand Northern Defense troops rout twenty thousand barbarian soldiers.

The supervising official: "I'll hurry and send a letter to Lord Lu. This Wei fellow is overbearing and acts on his own, deploying troops without permission. This time, he's sure to be doomed!"

The eunuch accompanying the army: "Send a carrier pigeon to the Nine-Thousand-Year-Old. Wei Chong took troops out of camp without permission. It seems this imperial son-in-law doesn't want the position anymore. Please choose someone else, Nine-Thousand-Year-Old!"

A Northern Defense general: "A thousand soldiers going up against twenty thousand barbarians? That's just moths flying into a flame! I'm General Tong's trusted man. Without his orders, I won't move a single soldier!"

Empress Wu Pianqian: "Sigh, can't this fellow give me a little peace of mind? Wouldn't it be better to behave and marry me as a useless son-in-law? What a shame. Of all the imperial sons-in-law, he's the only one I find easy on the eyes! I spent ages picking him out back then."

What? A thousand Great Xia soldiers against twenty thousand barbarians?

They actually won???

The entire court was shocked!
