Great Tang: When I Swore Brotherhood with Li Er, Changle Walked Out of the Room

For his wife's sake, Shen Fei embarked on the path of the imperial examinations.

After a thief stole his money, he happened to meet a man called Old Li.

When Old Li learned that Shen Fei had nowhere to stay, he claimed he had an old house and offered to let him live there for free.

That was how Shen Fei and Old Li grew closer and closer.

Old Li often asked him ridiculous questions, about everything from affairs of state to the everyday concerns of ordinary people.

Since he was living in the man's home, Shen Fei told him everything without holding anything back.

Later, during a drunken night, Old Li said he wanted them to become sworn brothers despite having different surnames.

They slaughtered a yellow chicken, burned talisman paper, and swore their oath to Heaven and Earth. Thus, the two became sworn brothers.

After they took the oath, Shen Fei brought out his fiancée to introduce her to Old Li.

But when they met,

his wife cried out, "Father!"

Old Li stared at her in shock. "D-Daughter????"

Shen Fei: "?????"
