Great Tang: I Pretended to Be an Imperial Envoy from the Start, but Li Er Found Out

In the second year of the Zhenguan era, Gu Qing transmigrated to Shuofang, in the Tang dynasty.

At the time, Shuofang was controlled by Liang Shidu, the last warlord to oppose the Tang Empire.

Li Shimin sent an imperial envoy there to investigate in secret and reclaim Shuofang.

The city of Shuofang was on edge.

Gu Qing was completely baffled. For some reason, the city's high officials all seemed to be trying to win him over.

Every day, they either dragged him to inspect the military camps or invited him to literary gatherings, and they would even give him gold and jewels from time to time.

What baffled Gu Qing even more was how the officials would nearly collapse in fear whenever he casually composed a poem.

Unable to hold back, Gu Qing asked, "Why are you all so afraid of me?"

The high officials of Shuofang: "Stop pretending. You're the imperial envoy sent by Li Shimin, aren't you?"

Gu Qing: "???"

Then one day, a middle-aged man dressed in fine clothes came to see Gu Qing.

He stared at Gu Qing and said, "How come I've never heard of an imperial envoy like you in the Tang dynasty?"

Gu Qing: "You're not..."
