A Player's Wasteland Development

The setting is sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, with a viral outbreak.

Pure humans hold the dominant position in society. A minority still refuse to recognize intelligent machines as human, believing them to be outcasts.

Intelligent machines are sentient mechanical beings. The Federation has passed the Intelligent Machine Protection Act and recognizes intelligent machines as part of humanity. However, some extremists still regard them as machines. After the virus outbreak, some humans stubbornly insist that the α virus was created by intelligent machines to seize more living space. Ridiculously, a great many people agree with this claim.

Hosts infected with the α virus die within ten to thirty minutes, and the virus absorbs electronic devices within a radius of ten to thirty meters. Note: Any device, including but not limited to phones and cars, of all shapes and sizes. Note 2: The virus preferentially infects humans in their original bodies. Intelligent machines have some resistance to the virus.

The dead are a kind of half... formed when humans are infected.
