A Taoist Descends the Mountain to Fight the War of Resistance

In 1938, in the Taihang Mountains of Huaxia, nestled among verdant hills and clear waters, stood a Taoist temple called Qingyun.

Inside Qingyun Temple, a young novice stood by the gate, clutching the corner of the young priest's robe as he prepared to leave on a journey. Looking up, he asked, "Master, what is your purpose in going?"

The young priest replied, "To drive out the Japanese invaders and bring peace to the land."

The novice asked, "When will you come back, Master?"

The young priest smiled. "If I return, it will be in an age of prosperity!"

With that, he gently patted the novice's head, then resolutely departed, leaving only his silhouette as his voice faded into the distance: "If I do not return... then I simply will not return."

Later histories would record: "In an age of chaos, Bodhisattvas do not turn away from worldly affairs. The Taoist bears his sword to save all living beings!"
