Journey to the West: The Demoted Divine General Fights His Way into the Hall of the Jade Emperor

Struck in the back by thunder and fire, stripped of his divine rank, the divine enforcer Lu Zheng crashed into a mass grave, barely alive. A netherworld officer sent to silence him came after him with a black chain. Using a broken stele, he struck back. The old book in his palm flipped open by itself, and inked words appeared on the page:

Win a battle, and its spoils are recorded. Cultivation, artifacts, and favors can all be claimed as spoils of war.

He retreated to an abandoned shrine on barren land, first protecting the grain and medicine of three villages, then driving back the officials who came to seize people and subduing a demon stronghold in the mountains. Behind in cultivation, he did not rely on brute force. He used the terrain, his allies, and his artifacts in combination to turn the tide, often reaping twice the rewards after a hard-fought battle.

A lotus-patterned talisman fell from afar, bearing only one instruction: protect the people before you first. Old ties to Mount Hua, the remnants of chains from the Five Elements Mountain, and the distant shadow of Buddhism were successively pressed against the corner of the book.

He would not submit to the old laws of Heaven. Blood debts and debts of justice would be settled, one by one.
