From the Start, I Summon Gods and Demons to Build the First Forbidden Zone of the Heavens

World Background

Since the ancient Seal-the-Heavens Divine War, the ancient Cangming Continent has shattered into five vast regions. The laws of Heaven are incomplete, and the four seas are cut off by a deadly force that blocks spiritual energy, making travel between the regions exceedingly difficult. The protagonist lives in the Eastern Li Region, nominally ruled by the Great Qian Divine Dynasty, which has stood for ten thousand years. But as the years passed, the imperial clan's fortune waned and the dragon veins ran dry. Within the dynasty, powerful noble houses hold sway over the court, while princes of different surnames carve out their own territories and command private armies. Beyond its borders, ancient sects and heretical forces openly trample the law. Heroes rise from every corner, and signs of a chaotic end times are already evident.

Lu Chen, the protagonist, lives in the Lu family of Yunmeng City, on the southeastern frontier. Caught between local clan rivalries and undercurrents along the Divine Dynasty's border, he starts out with mediocre martial arts skills, merely a pawn at the bottom of the noble families' pecking order. But he wields supreme authority to summon heroic souls from across the myriad heavens and shatter the boundaries between worlds. Using it beyond the eyes of outsiders, he builds the Heavenly Retribution Tower, a secret network of absolutely loyal assassins amid the currents of the black market. Leveraging intelligence gathering and unstoppable assassinations, he secretly tears open the iron curtain of rigid order, gradually rising into the hidden player directing the fate of the world.
