I'm a Divine Doctor on the Overpass

Jiang Banxia, the youngest leading figure in the Traditional Chinese Medicine department at the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was fired overnight.

The reason? Practicing medicine without a license.

His girlfriend ran off with a pharmaceutical sales rep. His mother lay in the ICU waiting for surgery funds, and his father had died unjustly in prison ten years ago.

With nowhere else to turn, he set up a street stall beneath the pedestrian bridge outside the hospital and hung up a cardboard sign: "Medical treatment. No charge if I can't cure you."

Passersby laughed and called him crazy. The police station wanted to arrest him, and his ex-girlfriend walked by arm in arm with her new boyfriend and spat at him.

Then one day, the retired former head of the Provincial Health Department, who had been out of office for ten years, suddenly collapsed in public. His ECG flatlined, and they had already prepared an ICU stretcher. Jiang Banxia pushed through the crowd, used three silver needles and a handful of weeds plucked from the roadside. Three minutes later, the former department head sat up.

The whole internet went wild.

From that day on, the line beneath the bridge stretched from one end of the street to the other. Even entrepreneurs with terminal illnesses came.

Wu Jiuren, director of the Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, could no longer sit still. He thought he'd thoroughly buried that old case from ten years ago. He never imagined that the young doctor he'd once trampled into the dirt would be sitting beneath a pedestrian bridge, using needle after needle to expose him for the scum he was.
