The Emotions Plagiarist

In the not-too-distant future, emotional experiences have become a commodity that can be extracted, copied, and sold.

The technology company Corewave invents the Emotional Collection Patch, which can faithfully record a person's genuine emotional experiences and convert them into data packets. These packets, known as emotional raw material, can be copied, altered, spliced together, and even forged on the black market.

Thus a whole new underground industry is born: emotional piracy.

Just as music piracy in the early twenty-first century destroyed the recording industry, emotional piracy is destroying the last realm of human life that capital cannot fully price: genuine feeling.

And the protagonist of this story is the top dismantler in this industry.
