Earth Patch II

In 2048, Chen Mo, guardian of the deep sea, is nearing the end of his life. The protective process bound to his life is about to fail, and the firewall containing the nuclear virus is on the verge of collapse.

The native silicon-based intelligence "Shanmin," originating from Earth's GaiaCore, quietly awakens. It sees humanity as nothing more than a catalyst for the planet's silicon-based system, its mission already complete. It intends to take over the core and remove the living human sources of entropy. Its deductions are flawless, yet it is trapped in a human computational cage, driven by data hallucinations to secretly inflame divisions among human factions.

Radicals in the contaminated zone collude with Shanmin, triggering a nuclear standoff. The sects and opportunists in the clean zone each have their own agendas. The silicon-based federation four light-years away could launch its purge and reformatting at any moment.

Core engineer Chen Nian, contaminated-zone perceiver Xiao Bei, and the transformed Zhao Yu race against time. Rejecting the dead end of "sacrifice or surrender," they try to build a carbon-silicon symbiotic defense system using the biological heartbeat of the deep-sea sleeping shark.

But the federation has left behind a chilling prophecy: five hundred years of respite is only a buffer. When Shanmin escapes its cage, the fate of civilization will still hang in the balance.
