Dragon Raja: Lu Mingfei Enters the DC Universe, and Batman Takes Him as a Disciple

Lu Mingfei waits for the rain to stop outside Shilan High School, but what he finds waiting beyond the clouds are Golden Eyes. Golden lightning swallows him. When he opens his eyes again, restraints in the Batcave have locked his hands and feet, and a black bat asks what he is. He recites the Memorial to the First Emperor, only to get the response, "And who might you be?"

This is Gotham. Monsters can rip telephone booths from the ground, a blonde Supergirl carries him through supersonic flight, and there is even an old butler in the Batcave who knows how to cook pork knuckle. But the ancient, violent genetic component inside him is suppressing his normal human genes and close to gaining the upper hand. Bryce gives him one option: start training at four in the morning, and even if he has to run for his life, he must run like a living person.

Clara presses a can of soda into his hand and tells him no one here will push him back out into the rain. Wayne Manor gives him a bed, a table full of food, and a thought he has never had before: he wants to learn something that might keep him alive, even if all he learns is how to run. But the black dragon that breaks free from a pile of corpses in his dreams, its Golden Eyes burning in the depths of the storm, will not quiet down just because he says, "I want to go back."
