A Rookie's Journey Through Boot Camp

Nineteen-year-old Liu Sanjun was a notorious rich playboy in the City of Magic. Then, one early morning, a special forces soldier made off with his fifty-million-yuan Bugatti in three seconds, leaving a note: “Want your car? Come find me at ‘Hellfire.’”

To get his car back, he plunged into a special forces selection camp with a ninety percent washout rate. There was the scar-faced instructor known as the King of Hell, steamed buns hard as bricks, and five-kilometer runs that never seemed to end. Armed with three cans of Lao Gan Ma chili sauce and a smart mouth, he struggled to survive the devilish training.

But strange things kept happening. A name that shouldn’t exist was carved into the back of his military ID. Bloodstains that wouldn’t wash out kept seeping through the left chest of his uniform. A serial number he’d never seen was printed on the bottom of a Lao Gan Ma can. At last, the King of Hell pushed a “Top Secret” report across the table to him: his memories had been overwritten, and his body held every instinct of a special forces soldier codenamed “Scythe.” The Bugatti had only been bait to lure him back into the unit.

He had two choices: go back to being a rich kid, or stay and remember everything, knowing he could never call himself Liu Sanjun again.
