Siheyuan: I Return from the Countryside, and Even Yi Zhonghai Bows His Head

Qin Yang had no intention of getting involved in the mess of the courtyard. But on the very first day after returning to the city, the Jia family had already seized his family's two main rooms. Qin Huairu, heavily pregnant, refused to leave; Jia Zhangshi threw a fit, Jia Dongxu acted like a thug, Yi Zhonghai spouted talk of justice while taking their side at every turn, and Silly Zhu even rolled up his sleeves and threatened violence.

Qin Yang had planned to settle his parents' affairs, sell the house, and find somewhere peaceful to live. But the people in this courtyard kept pushing him until he could no longer bring himself to tolerate it. Since the System had chosen this moment to activate, he wasn't leaving. If people insisted on coming to his door to cause trouble, then he would see who cracked first.

Jia Dongxu violated safety procedures on the workshop floor. Qin Yang publicly measured the workpiece and identified the dimensional errors. One line, "Every last one of you who meets the criteria for demotion will be demoted," sent Jia Dongxu from Grade Four down to Grade One. Yi Zhonghai tried to throw his weight around as a master craftsman, but couldn't even answer questions about operating procedures. He was criticized on the spot, then transferred from his Grade Eight fitter position to hauling goods the next day.

The night Yi Zhonghai bowed his head and wrote an IOU, the courtyard's old rules had already begun to crumble. Qin Yang wasn't fighting for a steamed bun, but for his pride. He would make these people understand once and for all: he was the one who decided who ruled this courtyard.
