Bright Sword: Future Gear, Bounty on Lao Li to Wipe Out Sakata

Before Cangyun Ridge, the New First Regiment had fewer than nine hundred battered rifles, with fewer than three bullets per man. Closing in on them was the full-strength Sakata Regiment, more than four thousand men strong, with ample artillery. It had once chased two divisions of the Central Army into retreat. No one believed the line could hold.

The squad Lin Moyang had brought back from the future crossed through the time gate and arrived right in the middle of this battle they were destined to lose. Five trucks pulled back their canvas covers, revealing equipment that made Li Yunlong's eyes go wide: a full 1,400 brand-new rifles no one had ever seen before, along with 700,000 rounds of ammunition and five heavy guns with a range of over twenty kilometers.

With the supplies laid out before him, a bounty was announced as well. The condition was to wipe out the Sakata Regiment, leaving no survivors. Li Yunlong stared at the gun barrels, swallowed, and accepted on the spot.

The artillery opened fire from a position the Japanese couldn't even locate. Before Sakata Tetsunobu could figure out where the shells were coming from, his headquarters and artillery positions had already been swept away. The heavy guns kept pounding the enemy as Li Yunlong led the New First Regiment out of their positions, ready to root out the remaining Japanese troops, whose formations had already been shattered. Once this battle was over, it would only be the first down payment.
