One Piece: After 800 Years Asleep, the Sand-Soldier Emperor Returns

Luo Wen transmigrates to the Sea Circle Calendar year 685, eats the Sand-Sand Fruit, and establishes the Alabasta Empire. He dies on the battlefield after exhausting his last breath holding back the magma. Eight hundred years later, when Crocodile sneaks into the tomb of the former king, a golden-armored figure steps out from behind the stone wall and taps his scepter on the ground. An army rises from the sea of sand.

When Cobra arrives with Vivi, Luo Wen is ruffling the little princess's hair with one hand. "Just call me ancestor." Ten thousand sand soldiers flatten the rebel stronghold. Crocodile stays tense the whole time. As a fellow Sand-Sand Fruit Devil Fruit User, he knows better than anyone what this level of control over the elements means. On the way back, Luo Wen deliberately lets a few rebels escape and draws Crocodile alone into the barren sea of sand. "You lured them into the country to find out what Alabasta has up its sleeve, or..."

"To get your hands on the Ancient Weapon Pluton."

A sand blade sweeps across, and Crocodile's poisoned hook presses against Luo Wen's throat. "You're an antique from eight hundred years ago. Anything you want to say before you die?" Luo Wen tilts his head to dodge the blade. Behind him, endless yellow sand surges into the shape of a giant. "There's something I want to ask you: who told you I died of exhaustion back then?"
