Zenless Zone Zero: I Become Gills to Protect Ellen

"The Hollow swallowed the streets, and Ethereals surged in like a tide. Dragging his dying body, Ix crawled out of the rubble. In his ears rang a girl's hoarse sobs. She was Ailian, the future Shark Thiren wife."

Surrounded by four Satyrs, with Thanatos teleporting in for an assassination and a single punch from Farbauti shattering bones, Ix bent his baseball bat and held on. He flooded his body with Ether energy to mend his broken bones, fighting to the very last moment. When he collapsed on the verge of death, little Ailian cried as she dragged over an energy canister to keep him alive. As he rose again, light burst from his waist: "Henshin!"

Black-and-green armor covered his body. Scarlet compound eyes glowed in the darkness, and monstrous insect horns crowned his head. One punch shattered both of Farbauti's arms. Grabbing the high-tier Ethereal, he slammed it into the ground six times in a row, smashing the monster to pieces.

From then on, a new legend arose in New Eridu: beneath the night sky, a black-and-green figure traversed the Hollow against the tide. Insect horns tore through the darkness, compound eyes locked onto evil, and light from his waist illuminated the entire city. He was a hero, and a monster. But only Ailian knew that the first thing those hands had offered her was a strawberry from a cake. Kamen Rider Gills, standing tall in New Eridu.
