Primordial World: Devouring Essence to Refine All Things, Huang Long Rejects the Chan Sect

Huang Long transmigrates into the Primordial World. Just as he reaches the Golden Immortal realm, an extraterrestrial demon claiming to be a transmigrator tries to possess him. After a century-long struggle, Huang Long kills it and unexpectedly obtains the Origin-Devouring Gourd, which can refine all things into source liquid. He also absorbs all the transmigrator's memories and sees his own future: joining the Chan Sect, being called the Daoist of Four Nothings, having his Three Flowers cut down in the Nine Bend Yellow River Formation, and forever being looked down on by Yuanshi for his lowly origins.

Huang Long sneers on the spot: "Then I won't join the Chan Sect." When Hongjun attains sainthood and begins lecturing at the Purple Heaven Palace, Huang Long takes advantage of the fact that all the Primordial World's great powers have gone to listen to the Dao. He travels west alone and spends five thousand years repairing the earth's ley lines. Heaven rewards him with merit, and the land repays him with the Dao's resonance. In one stroke, he comprehends the Way of the Earth, creates the Mountain-Embracing Seal, and rises to the Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.

The Origin-Devouring Gourd advances to become a high-grade innate spiritual treasure and gains the ability to fuse source liquid. Huang Long obtains innate Geng Metal Qi, while merit lessens the karmic burden of the Dragon Clan. His path as a rogue cultivator grows ever wider: he avoids the Chan Sect's restraints, has no entanglements with the Jie Sect, and owes the Western religions nothing. He refines all things with the Origin-Devouring Gourd and uses his memories of another life to plan ahead. A little crane girl volunteers to become his mount. By the time the Dragon Clan of the Four Seas is tangled in karma, he has already started accumulating merit. Before the Lich Calamity begins, he has built an Eternal Furnace deep beneath the earth.
