Wuxia: A VR Player Transmigrates and Draws the Art of Deprivation

Lin Hu snags an early copy of the full-dive VR game Great Dream Jianghu. He creates his character, maxes out his Insight and Luck, then dives right in. When he opens his eyes again, he's tied up in a woodshed. He's transmigrated into a rank-and-file Embroidered Uniform Guard, being beaten by the remnants of the Jianwen faction. The System is still with him, and a free lottery draw gives him the Class B secret art, Art of Skill Absorption. He maxes it out in an instant and drains two guards dry.

He escapes the dungeon, swipes Wudang's secret Nine Dragons Lion Skill, and runs into a boss-level expert for a head-on fight. He unleashes the Art of Skill Absorption at point-blank range and takes his opponent down in one combo. Along the way, he meets a childhood friend, an Embroidered Uniform Guard of the Hundred Households rank, who saves his life. He also finds a secret letter proving that a vice minister of war has colluded with the enemy. With evidence in hand, he's earned a major merit!

Back in the capital, he recovers and grinds out the Golden Wild Goose Skill and Five Tigers Severing Sabre, sending his combat strength soaring. When his archenemies, the Long brothers, come to pick a fight, he grabs their pulse points and drains their internal energy. The Thousand-Household Commander, Nangong Shaoqing, has to step in personally to take control. He thinks he's finally on the fast track to success, but then he saves a delicate young woman while out shopping, and she promptly stabs him in the kidney with a poisoned blade. The Art of Skill Absorption can drain power, but it can't dispel deadly poison. The doctor declares he'll be dead in ten days.
