Siheyuan: The Engineer Returns to Reclaim Two Rooms

Xu Weimin is transported to the 1960s. The moment he opens his eyes, he is standing on the stage at the Hongxing Steel Rolling Mill, where he is immediately appointed an engineer on the strength of his university degree.

While everyone else envies his salary of over a hundred yuan, he returns to his courtyard home and discovers that Yi Zhonghai has already assigned his two rooms to the Jia family without permission, while Silly Zhu tells him to go make do in the woodshed.

Xu Weimin doesn't call a meeting of the whole courtyard to plead for justice. Instead, he goes straight to the neighborhood office, the security department, and the police station, and gets back his home and every bit of compensation he is owed.

Then the Super Learning System activates. Once he finishes reading a mechanical engineering book, its knowledge becomes permanently ingrained in his mind.

When Yi Zhonghai can't fix the steel mill's rolling machine, Xu Weimin finds the fault on the spot. When the factory leaders can't solve a technical problem, they have to ask him for help.

The courtyard's pack of varmints still try to guilt-trip him with old ties and moral obligations, unaware that the engineer who just returned has become the person they least dare to cross.
