Pokemon: Entrusted by Arceus to Popularize Pokemon

Chen Yayi, a third-year university student in Modu, went out to buy cat food in the height of summer, only for her map app to lead her to a strange "Pokemon Home." A sunflower by the entrance grinned at her, and the wind chime on the door rang without a breeze. Thinking she had stumbled into a haunting, she nearly cried from fright.

The shop owner, Chen Sheng, pulled out two Poke Balls. Sunflora and Chimecho put on a show of "becoming spirits after the founding of the nation": Sunflora bowed and apologized, while Chimecho read her mind and mocked her elaborate fantasies about cultivating immortality.

Yayi's trembling finger pressed the "GO" button on the Pokédex, and a Shiny Snivy popped out: it had top-tier Special Attack talent, but a defense as fragile as paper.

She muttered, "Why is it a snake?" Snivy turned around and started to leave. Chen Sheng grabbed her. "That look on your face, like you're picking cheap goods at a street stall, doesn't escape the Pokemon." Yayi bowed at a ninety-degree angle and apologized. Snivy lifted her up with its vines and haughtily turned away. "You're on probation. Don't think you're getting a hug." A phantom image of Arceus flashed by behind the shop. "The contract is sealed." Chen Sheng watched the next group of customers rush in and murmured to himself, "Trainer number thirty-seven. I hope you can make it to your first evolution."
