Siheyuan: A Fifteen-Year-Old Level-Seven Chef Fights to Protect His Sister

After transmigrating as fifteen-year-old He Yuzhu, He Daqing runs off to Baoding with a widow from the start, taking the family savings and leaving behind his five-year-old sister, He Yushui. He has only a few dozen yuan in apprentice wages in his pocket, while next door, Yi Zhonghai has already set his sights on this strapping young man as a future caretaker. In his previous life, Yi Zhonghai had guilt-tripped him for years. He raised three ungrateful brats in the Jia family, only to freeze to death beneath a bridge. In this life, he awakens a Proficiency System: any skill can be upgraded without limit through repeated practice. After spending a day in the kitchen with Yushui, slicing potatoes, his cooking reaches level nine; in three days, he advances to level eight, and in half a month, he is nearing level seven. When two level-eight chefs compete for the position of assistant head chef, an honored guest asks for Shandong cuisine, and Wang Defa is nowhere to be found. He Yuzhu serves up a pan of silky fish fillets, and Manager Zhang immediately makes the call: the assistant head chef position is his, with a monthly salary of seventy-five yuan and two boxes of meat dishes to take home every day. Yi Zhonghai pretends to advise him, "Don't take advantage of your master," but He Yuzhu sneers and shuts the door. Xu Damao pokes his head in and gets scared off by a single punch. He then asks Wang Defa about learning self-defense from a martial arts instructor. He Yushui calls through the crack in the door, "Brother, dinner's getting cold!" In this life, he will never let anyone take away his hot meal again.
