Honkai: Star Rail: Studied by Herta from the Start, I Search for Treasure Through the Star Gates

Lu Huai transmigrates into Honkai: Star Rail with nothing but a fountain pen and an enamel mug. The pen can analyze anything, while the mug can refill itself with unlimited black coffee, which knocks him out as soon as he finishes a cup. Herta treats him like a lab rat and tosses him into the Fragmentum to feed the monsters. At death’s door, he downs the coffee and tumbles into a corridor of Curios. Billions of Aeons’ eyes stare at him in unison: “Gather Curios and hand them over. Your delusions, I shall make reality.”

Herta immediately changes her tune. “An Aeon of Curios? I’m funding this project.” She kicks him through a bullet door and sends him to Jarilo-VI, tossing him a Synesthesia Beacon for good measure. On the ice plains, he finds a corpse with Seele’s name on a letter. Herta looks down at her phone. “Removing the Stellaron won’t save this planet. People dying is normal.” Lu Huai clenches the letter. “Normal, my ass.”

A street kid from the Underworld steals the envelope and opens it on the spot. Hook stares at the photo, stunned. Herta gives him a sidelong look. “Trying to win me over? Find the Curio first.”

Clutching half the letter, Lu Huai walks into the coal dust of Boulder Town and glances back at Herta’s retreating figure.

“Win you over? First, I’ll be the good guy for once, on your behalf.”
