Haunted House Sleep Tester: I Can Hear a Countdown Behind the Walls

Haunted-house overnight stays + livestreamed exploration + architectural suspense + countdown survival. After safety inspector Shen Du is saddled with a huge debt, he takes a livestream job spending the night in a haunted house for 100,000 yuan. At midnight, he hears a countdown inside the walls that only he can hear: a gas explosion in forty-three minutes, an elevator crash in thirteen hours, and one floor of the entire building disappearing in seven days. He can't hear ghosts speak, so he has to rely on knocking on walls, blueprints, and inspection equipment to find the next deadly hazard. If he gets it wrong, the countdown speeds up. From a sealed model apartment to an unfinished development, underground utility tunnels, and accident-ridden floors erased from the city's records, Shen Du turns houses no one dares live in into an archive of dangerous buildings. But when the first wall is torn down, there's no corpse inside, only an inspection certificate from ten years ago. The photo of the certificate holder is Shen Du, but it was issued before he was born.
