In the Global Polar Night, I Run a Train to Transport an Entire City

Global Endless Night + Railway Migration + Train Management + Hardcore Survival

After a solar storm, daylight vanishes from the world. Beiling City will plunge to minus 60 degrees in three hours. Cheng Ye, a suspended freight dispatcher, takes over the last heavy locomotive in the city that can still start. He can see the remaining safe operating window, heat load, and first point of obstruction for every stretch of track, but he can't conjure a drop of diesel or a single railroad spike. The authorities have approved the evacuation of only 800 people, but 3,000 passengers are packed outside the station. The southern main line will stay open for another four hours, and the first bridge will crack from the cold in 90 minutes. From converting freight cars into heated passenger cars, to expanding a single escape train into a mobile station, a railway supply network, and a north-south lifeline through the endless night, Cheng Ye has to get the entire city to a place where the sun hasn't gone out yet. But after the train has traveled its first 100 kilometers, a green light comes on at an abandoned station ahead. A train is waiting there, with no driver, yet it knew the endless night was coming before they did.
