After Jade Fired Me in Honkai: Star Rail, I Unlocked Kafka's Childhood

After transmigrating into Honkai: Star Rail, Bai Ye is fired by Jade from his job as her "personal assistant." She throws three million Credits in his face, then presses a high heel between his legs. "You're too weak." Bai Ye activates the Simulator System on the spot, and a livestream opens at the same time, drawing viewers from across the universe.

In the beginner stage, World 5, he draws the talents Free Food and Magic Recovery. After twenty years of simulations, he builds a body of steel by mooching meals, then punches an elite Howling Casket to pieces. Along the way, he rescues a little purple-haired girl from the roadside: young Kafka. He pulls out a lollipop and crouches down. "Be my daughter!" The livestream chat explodes. Stelle slaps the table, laughing, while Kafka herself falls silent for three seconds. "That memory... was sealed away."

On the other side of the screen, Jade props her chin in her hand and watches Bai Ye carry little Kafka into a restaurant. The corner of her mouth curls up. "I know that guy."

Bai Ye maxes out the bank card of Old George, the man who saved his life, leaving a bill so long it trails across the floor. He glances back at the number of viewers in the livestream and says softly, "The Simulator just started its first run. Things get even crazier from here."
