Spider-Sense in American Comics: I Make a Living Gossiping in Gotham

On a rainy night in Gotham, Connors crouched on a rooftop where Batman and the Joker were facing off, leisurely cracking sunflower seeds. His System was pretty laid-back: he could earn rewards just by watching major events unfold, and the closer he got, the better the rewards.

The muffled thud of the Joker getting sent flying by Batman had barely faded when a notification popped up: Congratulations, you have acquired Spider-Sense. Before Connors could even savor the reward, a red-and-white web dropped from above. Cindy Moon, the Silk Spider, hung upside down in front of him, breathing so hard her mask was almost soaked. The same spider had bitten them both, and their Spider-Senses went haywire the moment they met. Not far away, Harley Quinn was hurrying over with a baseball bat, shouting, "Get lost, Puddin'. I've got a new sweetheart now!"

Batman opened the design file for the anti-Connors armor. The first note read: Do not let him crack sunflower seeds on the battlefield. Poison Ivy sent in a complaint, accusing him of using his Verdant Force powers to force her neighbor's cactus to grow faster. Arkham Asylum had turned into a vacation resort. Honestly, in a place like Gotham, where better to watch the action than among a bunch of supervillains?
