Hong Kong Crossover: The Recruitment System, Char Siu Rice Wins Over Long Wu

After transmigrating to Hong Kong in 1989, Wu Yaozu became the top enforcer under Chui Ji, leader of the Wo Hop To triad. He was so broke he had less than a thousand dollars in his pocket, and the liaison from headquarters had been missing for a whole year. Just as he was on the verge of despair, the Recruitment System bound itself to him. His first hire was Li Xiaofu, a discharged soldier. A monthly salary of 10,000 bought absolute loyalty, and Wu gained elite combat expertise. He publicly exposed the fact that Officer Chen was the Seraphim. The two reached an understanding on a rooftop: a 100-million-dollar revenge fund. Wu would take the money, while Officer Chen would take the credit.

Wu Yaozu cornered Yue Lu at home, and Yue handed over all his account names and passwords. Yue Qiqi pushed open the door in the middle of the night and saw Wu hugging her stuffed animal. She was furious. Wu Yaozu said expressionlessly, "Your dad owes me money. This room is mine for now."

Dragon Five was still drifting on a smuggling boat. The System's energy bar was full, and the only recruitment requirement was ten bowls of char siu rice. Li Xiaofu stared at the red dot on the map and asked, "Brother Zu, is this guy out at sea?" Wu Yaozu put away his phone, tossed the bulletproof vest and shotgun Officer Chen had given him into his storage space, and strode out without looking back.

"When he comes ashore, one bowl of char siu rice for a top bodyguard. That's a bargain."
