Great Tang: Li Er Eavesdrops on My Thoughts, and Laughs in Exasperation

Li Yin transmigrates as Li Shimin's sixth son and just wants to lie flat and live a lazy life. He gets scolded at Ganlu Palace, admits his mistake out loud, but grumbles inwardly about the "Xuanwu Gate succession system." Li Shimin hears every word of his inner thoughts. He strips Li Yin of his fief and banishes him to Guozhou! Just as Li Yin is about to leave, his little sister, Little Xizi, grabs his sleeve. She hears his inner thoughts too and cries, begging their father to let him stay. Li Shimin reluctantly drags his rebellious son back.

Then Li Yin secretly makes black powder and blows the Imperial Garden's lotus pond to pieces, carrying fish home to make soup for Xizi. Li Shimin is shaking with rage, but Li Yin argues, "They're festive firecrackers, and I'm a professional fisherman!" He's docked half a year's salary and confined to his home for self-reflection. Li Yin sighs at the sky: "Fatherly love is a mountain collapsing in a landslide." His thoughts drift into Li Er's ears, nearly making him lash out on the spot. Little Xizi hugs her bowl of fish soup, smiling brightly. "Sixth Brother is the best." While the ministers at court are still trying to read the emperor's intentions, this sixth prince with a head full of strange thoughts has already become the person in the palace who gives Li Shimin the biggest headache, thanks to his black powder and his sharp tongue.
