Great Tang: I, Li Chengqian, Lead Hesitant Li Er in a Coup

Li Chengqian transmigrates into the heir of the Prince of Qin, just as Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji move to seize power. Armored up, Li Chengqian charges into the council hall and shouts, "Father, I don't want to die! If you don't dare to do it, let me!" His words shock the entire room. On the eve of the coup, he summons Li Tai and hands him a scroll. "Build high walls, stockpile grain, and proclaim yourself king later. If we don't make it back, you'll be the head of the family." Fang Xuanling and Du Ruhui sneak a peek at the scroll. When they read, "Establish our hearts for Heaven and Earth, and secure the lives of the people," they burst into tears. "The Princess has given birth to a sage!"

In the ambush at Xuanwu Gate, Li Chengqian kills Li Yuanji with a single spear thrust, then, drenched in blood, blocks two thousand elite troops. He takes on three fierce generals by himself and knocks Xue Wanche unconscious with a backhanded blow. Li Yuan is aboard a pleasure boat, weeping for his son, when Li Chengqian comes aboard with a head in hand and holds his spear to his imperial grandfather's neck. "If you refuse to comply, your grandson will have no choice but to help you meet your end today." Li Yuan is terrified and obediently hands over control of the palace guards. Three days later, Li Shimin intends to appoint a crown prince. Li Chengqian squats in his study, sighing as he seriously studies how to sterilize the retired emperor. Beginning with the Xuanwu Gate Incident, the thirteen-year-old heir shoulders the burden of the entire Prince of Qin's household.
