Jiangshi: A Thousand-Year-Old Evil Spirit Begs Me Not to Strike

The protagonist starts out as a young beggar in Yong'an Prefecture, western Hunan, and gets caught up in the mystery of a woman's corpse during a Tusi sacrificial ceremony.

With his courage and uncanny methods, he solves the temple murders and survives the calamity of the Nuo-mask curse, carving a path through a chaotic age with bloodshed.

From corpse-driving craftsman to scourge of evil spirits, he crushes every kind of demon and monster in his path. Even a thousand-year-old drought demon is forced to keep its distance.

When the Master of the Gu Cult appears, seeking to control all of western Hunan with the Gu Mother, the protagonist discovers that his blood can suppress every evil creature.

He fights his way to the bottom of the Gu Mother's Well, destroys the mother worm, topples the Path of Immortality, and completely foils the patriarch's reincarnation scheme.

In the end, he guards western Hunan in a mortal body, making every evil spirit tremble with fear and beg him not to strike.
