Bright Sword: Raising a Massive Army to Crush Yamamoto's Special Forces

Synopsis:

Chen Ming is transported into the world of Bright Sword in 1939 and becomes the captain of a county militia squad in Ping'an. His entire unit has just over thirty men, three old rifles, seventeen bullets, and nothing but broadswords and spears besides. Er Dan dies in his arms while trying to pick up three bullets from the Japanese, clutching the bloodstained rounds until his last breath.

But Chen Ming has a cheat: a three-dimensional battle map that reveals enemy movements at a glance. He can also earn medals by killing enemies. The Infantry Medal grants 40% training, the Marksmanship Medal grants 40% accuracy, and the Marching Medal grants 40% stamina. In three months, he builds his thirty-man squad into a force of 380, capturing machine guns, grenade launchers, and Type 92 heavy artillery. They're better equipped than the regular army, with ammunition piled up like a mountain.

While Li Yunlong is still cursing as his troops are encircled, the brigade commander stares at the map, eyes shining. "That Chen Ming kid is something else." A Japanese company charges toward Xiaowang Village. Chen Ming leads more than 300 men into a valley ambush. A rain of grenades and a hail of machine-gun fire wipe out all 160-plus Japanese and puppet troops. Not one gets away.

The chief of staff's hands shake as he holds his teacup. "A county militia squad? What the hell kind of county militia squad is this? This is ridiculous!"
