Great Ming: Everyone Fights for the Regency, but I Reject the Decree to Save My Life

Zhu Gaoxu transmigrated as the Prince of Han and, from the start, found himself facing Zhu Di's decision to revoke the Crown Prince's authority to govern. Instead, Zhu Di dumped the Five City Military Command and all judicial powers in his lap. While others would fight tooth and nail for such a position, he knelt on the tiles of the Palace of Heavenly Purity and begged. "Father, I really can't do this job!"

Zhu Di sneered as he held the imperial sword. "Refuse and I'll send you to Fengyang's walled prison to rot." Zhu Gaoxu froze on the spot. Fengyang's walled prison was a death cell for deposed princes and members of the imperial clan. Once you went in, there was no coming out. He could only grit his teeth and accept the commander's badge. Then he turned around and made Crown Prince Zhu Gaochi do Jiong Hong's exercises to lose weight. The huge three-hundred-jin fatty collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath. "Second brother, are you trying to save me or ruin me?"

Late at night, he went to the palace of his own accord and knelt to confess. "I arranged the assassination." Zhu Di kicked him over, and the Crown Prince rushed in to cling to his leg and beg. One of the three father and sons waved a sword, one clung to a leg, and one hid in the corner. The scene was so absurd it looked like a farce. Zhu Di laughed in fury. "Get out and kneel at the palace gates!"

Clutching the Five City Military Command badge in his palm, Zhu Gaoxu gazed at the lights of the Forbidden City and muttered, "Zhu Si, digging another hole for me to fall into..."
