Siheyuan: Silly Zhu's Maxed-Out Comprehension, The Way of a Great Nation!

A hellish start: his father ran off, his little sister is only five, the rice jar is almost empty, and a whole courtyard of wolves and tigers has its eyes on his two rooms.

But this time, Silly Zhu isn't stupid.

His heaven-defying comprehension has come through: whatever he studies, he masters. Chop vegetables, and his cooking improves. Read a book, and his medical knowledge grows. Practice stances, and his martial arts advance. Others take three years to graduate as apprentices; he is at the stove in three days. Others study for years; he can recite a text after reading it once. In the Hongbinlou kitchen, a single cleaver lets him conquer Sichuan, Shandong, Cantonese, and Huaiyang cuisine. In the dead of night, a medical text opens the door to the healing arts.

But that's still not enough.

It's 1950, and the country is waiting to be rebuilt. He knows what road the nation will take in the years to come, and he knows how deeply his skills can leave their mark along the way.

Yi Zhonghai wants to use morality to manipulate him? Jia Zhangshi wants to scheme for his home? Qin Huairu wants to make him her meal ticket for life?

Sorry, but in this life, He Yuzhu has bigger things to think about than the petty squabbles in the courtyard.

One day, his stove will serve state banquets. His prescriptions will make it into medical textbooks. The martial arts he practices will teach more people how to stay strong and defend their country.

A great nation rises from humble beginnings.

And his journey begins in this courtyard.
