Bone Lantern

I picked up an old copper lamp covered in strange markings from a secondhand stall. The seller kept repeating one warning: Never light it at night.

Only after I wiped off the verdigris did I realize that a finger bone engraved with my grandmother's birth date and hour was embedded in the lamp's base.

On a dark night when the power went out, I lit it on a strange impulse.

The moment its eerie blue flame flickered to life, blood seeped from the bone, and my grandmother's face appeared in the lamplight.
