Siheyuan: A Supply and Marketing Cooperative Buyer with a System Space

Lin Donglai has ten mu of spiritual farmland in his pocket, but in the eyes of the troublemakers in the courtyard, he's become a "walking granary." Yi Zhonghai calls a meeting to propose "sharing with the neighbors," Grandma Jia waits outside every day to "borrow" cooking oil, and Qin Huairu begs for handouts with tears in her eyes.

Then Lin Donglai lays out 300 jin of fresh pork and 50 plump chickens from his space across the counters of the supply and marketing cooperative, and the whole city is abuzz!

The steel mill director personally invites him to be a special-supply consultant, while the head chef of the state-run restaurant begs him to sell ingredients.

The entire courtyard falls apart:

Grandma Jia is so desperate for a taste that she hallucinates, clings to the courtyard's only locust tree, and gnaws its bark while shouting, "Braised pork!"

Yi Zhonghai is halfway through reciting a moral lesson when his own wife grabs him by the throat and demands, "Can't you get your hands on even half a liang of meat?"

Xu Damao reports him for profiteering, only to have a leader point at the wall of commendation banners and berate him until he questions his own sanity.

At a courtyard meeting, they demand that he hand over his supply channels. Lin Donglai opens the warehouse, where goods pile up like mountains:

"The channels? This is them."

"But..." He smiles and locks the door. "Starting today, every resident of Courtyard No. 95 can forget about using their ration books for non-staple foods here."
