Hollow Soul: Bodhi's Wrath Cleans House

After Wukong becomes a Buddha, he tries to stop the “Heavenly Dao Purification Plan,” a joint operation by Lingshan and the Heavenly Court to eliminate powerful beings who refuse to be controlled. He is branded a “demon.” Tathagata and Guanyin join forces with Taibai Jinxing and the Zhenwu Emperor of the Heavenly Court to set up the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation. Wukong's golden body is shattered, and only a wisp of his “empty soul” falls into the mortal world.

The empty soul possesses the body of a destitute scholar who has just died and hides among the common folk. When a minor god from the Heavenly Court comes to investigate, he narrowly escapes danger, relying on his remaining combat instincts to overcome the crisis. He also discovers clues that the faith of mortals is being forcibly harvested. Meanwhile, various factions, including the underworld and remnants of the demon race, are searching for Wukong's “legacy.”

Wukong's empty soul is discovered by the divine beast Diting, who serves Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, and is besieged by the underworld's ghost soldiers. At the critical moment, a clear radiance comes from the east, freezing space and time. A calm voice, imbued with supreme authority, rings out: “You dare bully my disciple? Do you really think everyone from my Fangcun Mountain lineage is dead?” Patriarch Bodhi makes his grand entrance.
