Surviving the Weird Fog: Awakening

In the near future, roughly ten years ago, an anomaly known as “Ghost Fog” began appearing around the world without warning. When Ghost Fog appeared, electronic devices suffered severe interference, light warped, and the laws of physics became unstable in localized areas. All kinds of supernatural horrors bred within the fog or emerged from it. We called them “anomalies” or “vengeful ghosts.” They took many forms and possessed all manner of deadly rules and uncanny abilities that defied common sense. Physical methods were almost useless against them. Only an “anomaly” could fight another “anomaly.” A tiny number of people who survived Ghost Fog incidents sometimes gained a power by chance. Through methods such as transplantation, contracts, or consumption, they fused a vengeful ghost, or part of one, into themselves and gained the ability to wield its power. These people were known as “ghost controllers.” You are one of them. You awaken in an abandoned hospital, a cold scalpel of unknown origin in your hand, and set out on an unknown path...
